We love to hear guests chatting after wedding ceremonies, when they are in awe over a "different type of ceremony. "We hear, "Did you see when... I loved that! It was so different!!" We can't help but smile. Why? Well because most people always assume a ceremony is just a ceremony. The same typical walk down the aisle, vows, kiss and walk back. So when we can assist with throwing a "wrench" in that plan. We are all for it!
Your wedding ceremony should represent you. Even if you want to follow a traditional format, it's okay to add elements of you to the ceremony. After all, isn't what this is about? Stand out and customize your ceremony. Here are some of these ideas...
#1~ MUSIC
Music is a very easy way to make your wedding yours. Change it up! Select songs that the two of you love! Maybe the first song you ever danced to. Or maybe one of you is a Coldplay or Beyonce lover! We love acoustic versions of songs that are recreated by bands like Boyce Avenue.
#2~ VOWS
Write your own vows. Okay don't freak out! This isn't as hard as it sounds, and there are so many tools easily available now to help with writing vows. In our opinion, this is one of the sincerest expressions of love that we see during a ceremony. ~Enough said.
#3~ U-N-I-T-Y
One of the easiest ways to customize your ceremony is with a unity ceremony. We just love them all! From glass, water, wine, salt, sugar, sand, candles, ropes, and brooms! LOL! There are so many to do! Or even create your own! Why not? This IS your wedding! :-)
#4~ BARS
Bars? Yes, Bars! I know what your are thinking. We are talking ceremony right now, not the cocktail hour. Right! But we are talking about Fun Bars. Bars that add that element of "Wow!" "Awesome!" of "Now, that's a nice touch!" We love Confetti Bars, Lemonade Bars, Sunglass Bars, Water Bars! The possibilities are endless. What do you love? Do it! Ceremony outdoors? Near the entrance, display a table with a few types of water for your guests. Watermelon Water, Lime Water, Orange Water. Your guests will love you for it!
#5~ COMFORT
Who says guests just have to sit in folding chairs? Offer something different. What about supplying white lounge furniture for guests to enjoy your ceremony. Maybe use chiavari chairs with brightly colored throw pillows placed throughout the rows. Speaking of chairs, if space permits, why not set them up in a half-moon, or in a spiral. As long as your guests can see you, get creative!
